Our Story

How we Started
I wrote Adventures with America because I wanted every child, especially those who don’t always see themselves in books, to feel valued, visible, and full of possibility.
As a mother to beautiful African American daughters, I’ve always wanted them to grow up knowing that they matter, that their stories matter, and that they deserve the same joy, freedom, and opportunities as anyone else. I wanted them to open a book and see a little girl who looks like them traveling, exploring, learning, and dreaming big.
But this isn’t just for my girls, it’s for all children. I wanted
Adventures with America to reflect the rich diversity of our world, to show that no matter your race or background, you deserve to be seen, to feel safe, and to know that you belong. My purpose is to create stories that celebrate differences, uplift voices, and bring children together in joy. In a world that too often divides, this series is my way of showing that unity, kindness, and representation matter.
Through these stories, I hope to inspire curiosity, build bridges between communities, and show that our differences are something to be celebrated, not feared. This series is my love letter to unity, representation, and childhood wonder. It’s about bringing people together one adventure at a time!

My Big Beliefs
Everyone belongs.
Whether you’re from a tiny town or a big city, you matter.
You’re welcome on every adventure.
The world is a classroom.
You can learn from rivers, people, trees, songs, and even food!
We don’t need to go far to discover something new.
Sometimes adventure is right outside your door—or inside your heart.
Kindness is a superpower.
Smiling at someone can change their day. Maybe even change the world.
